Getting to know…Carol Anne Gillis, DCBA Administrative Assistant

IMG_6008

Name: Carol Anne Gillis

DCBA Roll:  I was very pleased to join Destination Cape Breton in March as an Administrative Assistant. I enjoy working with Accounting Manager, Walter Muise, as well as the opportunity to assist the organization in other areas.

Hometown:  Grand Mira South

Profile :   I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from King’s University and then ventured off to Toronto to attend Ryerson Theatre School.  Apparently, the novenas didn’t pay off.  Over the next seventeen years, I worked in the Film and Television industry while finding time to write and perform in independent theatre and art projects. I returned to Cape Breton in 2006 and was fortunate to be employed as Office Manager at the Savoy Theatre for the past five years which allowed for some performance opportunities as well.  Now living in my childhood home on the Mira, I get to take in one of the world’s most wonderful views on a daily basis. And I have dogs. They love it there too.

Your Favorite Cape Breton Experience:  A full day at Kennington Cove with great friends and a basket of goodies.
