Events Cape Breton Moves Forward with New Director

2185b20Destination Cape Breton Association (DCBA), in partnership with Enterprise Cape Breton Corporation (ECBC) is pleased to announce Glen MacDonald as the new Director of Events Cape Breton. DCBA and ECBC have been working for the past year with key industry partners to bring the Events Cape Breton entity, which has been a dormant organization, back to fruition to prospect and sell Cape Breton to targeted groups.    

“We recognize that there are three key niche markets that are very lucrative to tourism for Cape Breton Island; golf, cruise and events, which encompasses meetings, conferences, cultural and sporting events,” says Mary Tulle, CEO of Destination Cape Breton. “The goal of Mr. MacDonald’s position will be to increase economic impact for numerous facilities and businesses throughout Cape Breton Island.”

Glen MacDonald has been working in the tourism industry for over 30 years. His most recent position, which he held for 15 years, was with Cape Breton Resorts where he worked in various capacities including sales, product development and industry relations. He is a leader in the meetings, events and conferences sector on Cape Breton Island.

The Director of Events Cape Breton will report to an Advisory Board along with a key stakeholder group.
